A candidate for UCL’s LGBTQ+ network has garnered a lot of attention over the past week after claiming that “politics have no place” within the network.

Pomelo Dickinson, a first year law student, is running for Treasurer in the recent rep elections, and their policies have been largely questioned by a majority of the students within the network.

Such policies include a plea for Heaven (world’s greatest straight gay bar) to be turned into an SU bar and the abolition of “woke nonsense” policies within the network. What either of these policies has to do with the role of Treasurer is yet to be made clear.

Speaking exclusively to The Cheese Grater, Dickinson has declared that they are more than qualified for the role:

“I have extensive experience with moneys, and I love everything about UCL. I hope LGBTQ+ students who share my vision will stand behind me as we fight the woke mind virus. Woke lefty nonsense has NO PLACE in the LGBTQ+ network. I’m fighting for the majority here, the regular gay people who want nothing to do with any of that Glittoris nonsense. Sorry, what did you say? What have stones and walls got to do with anything?”

A spokesperson for the Network declined to comment, instead yelling at this Cheese Grater journalist to “get out of [their] house right this second.”
