The game is a 3rd person action stealth shooter, which follows the titular character’s adventures in the South American rainforest after his squad of battle-hardened soldiers are wiped out by international terrorists.
Michael Spence has insisted the story of the game is autobiographical.
In speaking with the game’s director, Casey Cain, we asked why the game was released for a system developed over 20 years ago.
“To coincide with the UCL200 campaign, the PlayStation 2 was the closest system that matched the “2” in 200. We’ll likely develop our next game on modern systems like the PlayStation 5, probably for UCL’s 500th anniversary.”
Casey then paused, deep in thought.
“OH ****, THE NINTENDO SWITCH 2!!! THAT HAS A 2 IN THE NAME, HOW COULD WE POSSIBLY BE SO—”
The game has received critical acclaim for its combat system, reactive stealth mechanics, but particular praise has been lauded to Michael Spence, who portrays himself in the story.
“It’s one thing to live through helicopter chases, military infiltrations, and front line combat, but it takes a whole set of skills to act out those experiences on a soundstage. Luckily, my natural talent made that no problem,” Michael Spence said in a post-release interview.
A multiplayer mode has been announced with a trailer featuring members of senior leadership as playable characters. Featuring the Head of Estates & Facilities to the Manager of Human Resources, with a surprise reveal of the Pro-Provost of Policy Engagement.
In the same announcement, it was revealed that there would be an increase in accommodation fees by roughly 1000%, due to “a troubling economic climate”.
