Man Finds Cup

Londoner ‘chuffed’ having found Holy Grail in back garden

The Humour Desk

Chris Bennett was ‘chuffed’ yesterday to find the Holy Grail, the cup used by Jesus Christ, 2010, at the last supper in his back garden in Walthamstow.

The 43-year-old lifeguard stumbled across the Holy Grail having dug a hole in his garden to plant some geraniums. He re- alised what he had stumbled upon when he noticed Jesus’ name engraved into the side of the Grail.

Moreover, Bennett’s suspicions that this was indeed the Holy Grail were further confirmed having become immortal after supping from the chalice in question.

Chuffed

Bennett is ‘chuffed’ to have stum- bled across the Holy Grail. “You just don’t think this sort of think happens to an aver- age bloke like me. But I'm as chuffed as wet knickers that it has.”

“When Sue from a couple of doors down won £4,000 on Deal or No Deal last year I couldn’t help but feel that other peo- ple get all the luck. This has been a welcome change of fortunes. Get in!”

Baffled

Grail historians are baffled by the dis- covery of the grail in Walthamstow. Michael Baigent, co-author of ‘The Holy Blood and The Holy Grail,” conceded that he had really ‘missed the mark’.

“We weren't even close with what we said. It almost makes all our research feel like a pointless endeavour. The egg truly is on our face.”

Grounded

After being at the centre of a media frenzy and receiving a celebrity visit by Jesus himself, Bennett, who lives with his mother, Edith, 83, insists that he is going to remain grounded.

“I just want to keep my head in the game and make sure that I do whats best for my me and my mummy.

“Meeting Jesus is a humbling experi- ence. He’s a real down to earth bloke and has his head screwed on. Although he is shorter than I thought he’d be. And Chinese. “One thing’s for sure, having the chal- ice of immortality it is going to make saving lives at work much easier!
