NUSed to be mine

Potentially gone, but it NUSed to be mine

It's not simple to say

That most days I don't think about you

That these promised reformed policies

This charity and its patrons

Have taken more than the just the £38320 I annually gave them

It's not easy to know (basically majority of the UCL student body aren’t aware that we are apart of this charity)

It’s not anything like it used to be (bring back the good ol’ days of 1922 or when it campaigned for women’s and LGBTQ rights)

It has become true

The NUS has not been attention's sweet center

For as long as I can remember

[Chorus]

The NUS is imperfect, but allegedly tries

On paper seems good, but don’t rely

Students are questioning why

Since it doesn't really do much

Is irrelevant, but historically kind

Increasingly lonely most of the time (ICL, Birkbeck, and Loughborough have already left)

The NUS is all of this mixed up

And wrapped in a spenny membership fee

Potentially gone, but it NUSed to be mine
