The Jazz Society has been named Arts Society of the Year, praised for its focus on inclusivity and incredible programme of events throughout the year at the 2025 Arts Awards.
It’s also been a huge night for Era Journal, named Best Publication and whose editor Olivia Wachowiak won Outstanding Contribution to the Media.
Whilst it is often said that a good journalist is never the story, tonight was an exception. Shamelessly, both Cheese Grater editors were recognised for their contributions to student media, with Robert Delaney claiming the title of Media Personality of the Year and Nick Miao named an honorary life member of the Union.
Other media wins include Teni Gomez of Kinesis Magazine, who won Best Written Media Piece for “Methodological and ethical failures of the Cass Review: Why it falls short as a guidance for trans healthcare”, and Film and TV Society winning Best Video Media Piece with their coverage of the London Varsity Series.
In the arts scene, Shakespeare Company’s production of Twelfth Night won two awards, including Best Design Project and Best External Production, whereas Live Music Society’s Rhapsody 2025 was awarded Best Bloomsbury Theatre Production to thunderous applause. You can find our stellar review of Rhapsody here, and the full list of nominees right here.
